This year’s Design on a Dime was a smashing success for some of New York’s top designers. The star-studded event took place Thursday, April 12th, and has raised over $7 million since its 2005 for its charity, Housing Works.  Interior design firm Marks & Frantz, set decorators for both Sex and the City motion pictures, was selected to make their own vignette, which they fittingly named, “Carrie’s Closet.”  Lydia Marks came back to Hellman-Chang, whom she worked with in decorating Carrie and Big’s iconic bedroom in Sex and the City 2, for luxurious pieces to anchor the vignette.  On display were the Z Side Table and the Z Round Table, both in Deep Sapele High Polish.  These glitzy pieces showed off some of the world’s finest fabrics and jewelry, surely rounding out what Carrie’s closet would look like today.  In between the tables sat Marks and Frantz’s own piece, the Carrie Settee, which will be part of a capsule collection manufactured and distributed by celebrated American furniture brand, Edward Farrell + Louis Mittman.

Hellman-Chang also worked with Marks & Frantz on the new set of the Today Show last October, where the Z Side Table can be seen every morning. See more of Carrie’s Closet here, via Elle Décor. Photography by Rick Lew.
